Strange Occasions for the week of September 1st, 2010

My time at the comic shop was all too brief, as I explained last week that it would be, but I did get in long enough to grab my books and search through a couple more. Without further ado, this week’s Strange Occasions are:

I Am An Avenger #1 – This is an anthology book, full of several stories about what it means to be an Avenger to the team’s new dozens of members. In a story by Jim McCann, illustrated by Chris Samnee, the Young Avengers make their first trip to the Avengers Mansion. As you can expect, hijinks ensue. When they finally make it in, however, they are greeted by some familiar faces.

Namor: The First Mutant #1 – In a recap sequence in the back of the book is a tiny Strange reused from the Illuminati series. Not actually part of the comic, unfortunatly, just a footnote in Namor’s history. Oddly enough, the Illuminati seems to have been a larger part of his life then the Defenders…

If you saw the Sorcerer Supreme coated conjurer in any other titles this week please post it in the comments and I will add it to the list.

  1. So… just that one panel appearance – or is there more to it?
    Does Doc have any “lines”?

  2. For the “I AM AN AVENGER”, I mean.
    I know about the Namor.
