This week was a relatively small one for comics, or maybe it just seems that way because of the lack of the usual 25 Avengers titles. There was the new installment of Shadowlands, however, and the new issue of Brightest Day. Also this week was the official beginning of the new Spider-Man arc, “One Moment in Time”. This is significant for three very important reasons: Stephen Vincent Strange.
Amazing Spider-Man #639 – Because making a deal with the devil to save beloved continuity is frowned upon these days, Marvel is sort of revising some of Spidey’s back story. There is going to be enough hate for this book floating around that I don’t really need to go into the details. Feel free to wade through the vitriol if you want spoilers, or, better yet, buy the book. I know I did! Accepting this for what it was, I enjoyed this book. I gotta say though, my favorite part was:
Doctor Strange, one again, gives good advice that is promptly ignored. That is one of the things that I like about Strange. He knows who he is because he had to suffer to get there. He had to fight for every last iota of his being. He knows about these mistakes because he has already made them, and, more importantly, learned from them.
If you saw the Sorcerer Supreme Psychic Psychologist in any other titles this week please post it in the comments and I will add it to the list.
